WMM~Dr. Letitia S. Wright

Talk show host, TV producer and movie producer are just a couple of titles that describe Dr. Letitia Wright. Letitia, or Drwright1 as her Twitter followers know her, is a a chiropractic physician by trade, but the desire to work in the TV field was too strong for her to ignore.
The Wright Place TV Show was born from Letita's appears as a medical expert on various TV programs. For eight seasons Dr. Wright has hosted entrepreneurs who share the nuts and bolts of growing a successful business. Over 3.8 millions homes have been exposed to the 230 shows she has broadcast so far. Mark Victor Hansen, Robert G. Allen, Stedman Graham and a number of other entrepreneurs have appeared on Dr. Wright's show. Her passion of encouraging people to lead their best lives, led to Dr. Wright to produce "The Power of Mentorship Movie." I had an opportunity to speak with Dr. Wright and she shared her thoughts as a woman making moves.

Q: How did you transition from being a doctor to a TV host helping entrepreneurs?
A: I realized while making guest appearances as a medical expert that I was drawn to the TV industry, but I always wanted to be a physician, so I continued in the field.
Q: What was your family's reaction when you broke the news that you were leaving the medical field?
A: I'm sure some of my family thought I was out of my mind, but they know I always accomplish any goals I set for myself.
Q: Why did you decide to focus on entrepreneurs?
A: I realized that there are a number of people who have dreams to become entrepreneurs, but are fed incorrect information or are scared to pursue those dreams. I knew if I connected those striving to become entrepreneurs with successful entrepreneurs that it would be
successful.
Q: Are there other outlets, in addition to local TV in California, where your viewers can catch your show?
A: The Wright Place TV Show is available on the website. I also podcast and I have goals to take the show to a national audience one day.
Q: Do you have any suggestions for women wanting to make their own moves?
A: You shouldn't be afraid to pursue your dreams. When you connect to your passion and follow it, you won't run out of energy because you're doing something everyday that's your passion.

Dr. Wright certainly shows that women are making moves. In the words of Dr. Wright, go after your passions and go for them now.

WMM~Musicial Mavens

My husband recently performed in a musical showcase for the Shanghai Restoration Project , and while the guys who sung were talented, of course the women who participated were amazing. To give you a little background, the Shanghai Restoration Project is a compilation CD produced by David Liang and is an ode to China's city of Shanghai. Seven artists from the project wowed the audience last week with a performance at NYC's legendary Canal Room.
Di Johnston, who I'm sure you've heard, but didn't realize it, was the featured voice in the Lincoln Mercury vehicle commercials. Her voice is sultry and definitely puts you in a calm place. Di's work on the Shanghai Restoration Project was probably second nature to her as she was born in Hong Kong to two U.S. diplomats and perfected her sound in China. After moving to NYC, Di began working as a voice-over actress. In addition to promoting Lincoln's vehicles, she's also done voice-over work for Pantene, Verizon Wireless and she announced the 2006 Miss America Pageant in. Di is certainly a woman making moves. Once you fall in love with Di's voice, and I know you will, her songs can be purchased by visiting her website.
I mentioned that Di's voice is calm and soothing, well Shayna Steele's voice, who also performed, hit notes as though her name was Mariah Carey. This may sound crazy, but Shayna's voice reminded me of church. She has one of those voices that you hear in the church choir in a Southern baptist church. I hope my analogy doesn't go over anyone's head. LOL. Shayna has had an amazing career so far. She's performed on Broadway in Rent and has also appeared on The Grammy's and The Tony's.
These two musicial mavens are making moves. Stay connected with Di and Shayna via MySpace and definitely attend their shows if they are in your area. Kudos to these ladies for sharing their talent with the world.

WMM~Janine A. Morris

Recently Women Making Moves has featured celebrities, around-the-way-girls and high-level executives. And now I'm going to throw Janine A. Morris in the mix. Janine is an author of three published novels and a writer for CBS Radio and King-Mag.com. In addition to this, Janine also recently completed her second year as a law student. This is definitely a woman making moves! I could use Janine's advice on time management.

At the age of 28 Janine has already accomplished so much in life and each day is jam-packed. A day in the life of Janine can include class, an article or book deadline or hanging with her family that includes over 50 cousins.

Janine's first novel, "She's No Angel" has received rave reviews on amazon.com. This novel has been compared to Terry McMillian's ''Waiting to Exhale." Janine's second novel "Diva Diaries" chronicles the fabulous and not so fabulous life of three friends in NYC. There's bound to be drama throughout this novel, so I suggest you put it your summer reading list pronto! Janine's latest novel "Playthang" will hit the shelves soon.

Janine also has a piece of advice for women. She says, "Don't give up. Everything I wanted to do, I have done strictly because I believed in myself." Those are wonderful words to live by. When you believe in yourself, things can definitely fall into place.
