If you haven't heard, a new Miss USA has been crowned. Crystle Stewart of Missouri City, TX was crowned Miss USA over the weekend in "Sin City" Las Vegas. Crystle, 26, graduated from the University of Houston with a Consumer Science and Merchandising degree. Believe it or not, Crystle is the eighth Texan to be named Miss USA. She beat out Miss Mississippi and New Jersey to win the coveted position. I am a southerner, so I am excited that someone from the southern region won Miss USA! Crystle is a self-proclaimed entrepreneur. She models professionally, but she always owns a party planning and motivational speaking company. Wow, Crystle is really making moves. When does she have to eat or sleep for that matter. LOL. Crystle's reign makes her a spokesperson for the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation and makes her eligible to compete in the Miss Universe pageant that will take place in July. We'll keep our fingers crossed that she takes that title as well! Crystle seems like an amazing and I'm sure she will certainly be a role model for others. Congrats Crystle! Women, start making your Moves today!

WMM~The Women of Essence

Hey ladies!
While I was away, women were still making moves and I am here to share them with you.
In the April issue of Essence Magazine, four millionaires were profiled. These everyday women shared their success stories with Essence readers. Tina Wells, (pictured far right) CEO of Buzz Marketing Group, Fran Harris, (2nd from the right) founder of Fran Harris Enterprises, Elon Bomani, (far left) creator of Bomani's Village Enterprises and Conni Evans, (2nd from the left) co-founder and President of The Ancon Group were the featured four. These women, normal just as you and I, set a goal and achieved the ultimate success through hard-work. And let's not forget they made millions as well.
That can't hurt either! Millionaire Tina Wells' entrepreneurial spirit kicked in at the age of 16. She started her own newspaper, The New Girl Times, while simultaneously building Buzz Marketing Group. Fran Harris, a former WNBA player, used the discipline she gained as a college athlete to form multiple streams of income for herself. In addition to Fran Harris Enterprises, she also owns Fran Harris Entertainment and Fran Harris Real Estate Partners. Elon Bomani began her route to becoming a millionaire after she started having money problems in 2001. Conni Evans did what a lot of people are afraid to do and started her own business over 10 years ago.
These women overcame any fears that they may have had to achieve success. If you are not an Essence subscriber, I encourage you to purchase the April edition. The stories of the women featured could be the encourage you need to become a millionaire as well.
